Why’d they farm the doorlocks out to GM?

Probably time to invest in the stock of companies that make auto safety tools. And auto glass.

That's two things I worry about with electric cars, can you shut them off (totally, completely isolated with a switch to override everything to bring it to a halt) and can you get out should you need to to avoid being trapped inside but not have the doors automatically open should the vehicle shut down, because you still may need to shelter from the elements until help arrives.

driver “accidentally made a series of operations that activated the system update”

I’m picturing something similar to an oil change reset procedure? Yeah, “optimizing the upgrade confirmation logic” with a more complex sequence should take care of that. Also, system updates LOL. Is it too much to ask that something just gets built/programmed right the first time so that updates will never be necessary? How did we ever get tricked into thinking that this was an acceptable thing to have to deal with on cars?

locks passengers inside

This is insane. Just stop the electronic everything BS. There should always be a manual emergency release, one that doesn’t involve damaging the car. Or, y’know, just make the doors manually operable in the first place.

And this is why the Chinese themselves often  avoid Chinese knockoffs...
